OVERVIEW

Introduction

Attorney Yangyidi Ye is a senior partner at Causey & Ye Law, P.L.L.C., dedicated to bridging the gap between international and U.S. business communities. With a deep understanding of domestic and international legal environments, she provides reliable advisory services to companies navigating complex regulatory frameworks.


Academically, Attorney Ye is a distinguished graduate of Georgetown University’s Master of Tax Law program, receiving honors and awards for her outstanding academic achievements. During her time at Georgetown, she gained valuable experience through an internship at the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) in Washington, D.C., providing litigation support for key issues such as Qualified High Technology Company (QHTC) eligibility, property tax assessments, and state tax credit calculations.


Her two consecutive terms as an intern at the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Office of International Tax Counsel further deepened her legal expertise. During this time, she participated in projects involving U.S. trade and business tax obligations of foreign entities, characterization of digital content and cloud computing, Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act (FIRPTA), OECD’s opinions on bilateral trade and investment tax provisions, and taxation of foreign trusts and gifts.


Attorney Ye has extensive experience working with startups and established companies across various industries, including hospitality, retail, manufacturing, information technology, and commercial real estate. Her practice areas include:

Business Matter and Tax

  •  Represented foreign investors in high-value U.S. acquisitions and investment transactions, including commercial real estate and securities investments. 


  •  Assisted a multinational company with complex U.S. expansion by collaborating on infrastructure and operational strategy for a multimillion-dollar manufacturing project and successfully secured an L-1A visa for its intracompany transferee executive
  •  Assisted a multinational company with complex shareholder disputes involving a Minnesota-based manufacturing operation, including tax audits and buyout negotiations.


  •  Assisted a foreign investor in due diligence for an investment project, identifying material legal and financial risks that mitigated a potential $2–3 million exposure. 


  •  Advised a real estate investment company on U.S. corporate structuring and tax planning, collaborating with a CPA team to evaluate a portfolio of commercial properties. 


  •  Served as legal counsel for minority-owned businesses, including auto dealerships, hotels, and medical software companies. 

Cross Border Litigation

  •  Co-represented a multinational company in a complex cross-border dispute involving a Delaware LLC and a multimillion-dollar Iowa warehouse, successfully removing a lien, challenging jurisdiction, securing possession, and achieving a favorable settlement that allowed the transaction to close without disruption. 


  • Co-counseled on an EB-5 investment immigration fraud case, successfully appealing and securing $140,000 in compensatory damages and $400,000 in punitive damages for the client.


  • Collaborated with co-counsel to represent a corporate client in commercial litigation, securing a $460,000 court judgment against an Iowa-based company.


  •  Assisted an Iowa-based company in cross-border contractual disputes, including litigation and arbitration proceedings. 

Immigration

  • Successfully assisted individual and corporate clients in EB-1, EB-2, Eb-3 applications, H1-B visas, and PERM labor certifications. Also helped professors, doctors, scientists, and scholars obtain EB-2 National Interest Waivers (NIW), providing professional legal guidance throughout the immigration process.


  •  Represented a Minnesota-based company established through the EB-5 investment program on immigration and business compliance matters.


  •  Assisted an Iowa based company focused on real estate development and investment management in applying for EB-5 visas. 


  • Provided comprehensive business consulting services to a gas station management company and assisted senior executives with work visas. 

Personal Injury, Civil Litigation, & Criminal Defense

  • Co-counseled in a high-stakes personal injury case involving four severely injured clients in a Yellowstone National Park accident, securing full insurance recovery after assembling a cross-state legal-medical team and presenting international medical evidence.


  • Co-counseled with Jon in a civil case in Polk County involving misrepresentation and contract disputes, securing a $180,000 settlement for the client.
