Sandy earned her Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she was a member of the Mitchell Hamline Intellectual Property Law Review and participated in the Immigration and Health Law Clinic. Prior to joining Causey & Ye Law, P.L.L.C., Sandy served for three years as a law clerk to the Honorable Bev Benson and later the Honorable Charlene Hatcher of the Hennepin County District Court. In this role, she worked extensively on both family and criminal matters, assisting with procedural hearings, evidentiary hearings, and trials, and drafting judicial orders. She gained hands-on experience in over 300 cases.
Before and during law school, Sandy also worked at local law firms, further strengthening her litigation and client advocacy skills. In addition to her legal education, Sandy holds a doctoral degree in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota and served as a teaching assistant and adjunct instructor for nine years. Her academic background enhances her analytical abilities and her capacity to explain complex issues clearly and effectively.
Her family law practice includes divorce, custody and parenting time disputes, property division, and the drafting and negotiation of prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. She regularly assists clients in both contested and uncontested matters and is trained in divorce financial analysis, allowing her to address complex financial issues with precision.
