Moriah Umfress has been with Causey & Ye Law as an attorney since 2019 and is licensed in Iowa. Her main areas of practice are immigration law and criminal defense, and she speaks Spanish. She also practices family law, handling divorce and child custody cases, and civil disputes.
Moriah has successfully represented Immigration clients in Immigration Court with asylum and withholding of removal, she has helped clients obtain green cards through USCIS with both family based and employment based petitions, has successfully helped clients who have been found to be inadmissible to apply for waivers, and has helped clients to apply for asylum, H-1B, work authorization, naturalization, and other immigration related matters. Moriah assists clients with these matters from the beginning of the case until it is completed, including application filing and evidence gathering, answering requests for additional evidence, and preparation for interviews. In Criminal law, Moriah has assisted her clients to have their charges lowered or dismissed and avoid jail time. Her criminal law experience includes OWI and other driving charges, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, assault, and theft.
Moriah graduated from the University of Memphis with honors in 2014 with a degree in Political Science, and attended Drake University Law School where she received her Juris Doctorate with honors in 2019.
